Our Mission

KickStart is committed to bringing children into the spotlight. We are determined to identify and inspire every child's fullest potential and to help parents get a better understanding of how to help their child reach that potential.

We emphasize the holistic development of children to enrich the quality of life for not only them, but also for their parents and the rest of the family.

KickStart believes that every case is special. Every child has his/her unique needs. Therefore, our goal is to provide a tailored treatment for each child. We also believe parents are the key to a child’s development. In addition to inviting the parents to participate in the session, your therapist will keep an open dialogue throughout the course of the day. He/she will describe the purpose of each lesson and assignment, provide you with daily things to work on and give advice about how to interact with your child on a daily basis. We aim to help you better understand the needs of your child’s sensory integration development and how you can address them. We believe that if both parties work together, we can kick off a beautiful start for our children and open up new opportunities for them in the future.

We help children and teenagers ages 0-18, with the following:

  • Sensory integration, dysfunction
  • Autism, Asperger’s syndrome
  • ADHD (Attention Deficit Hyperactivity Disorder)
  • Delayed development
  • Learning Disability
  • Down Syndrome or other genetic disorders
  • Cerebral palsy
  • Emotional disorders
  • Sleep disorder
  • And more.
About us

KickStart provides professional sensory integration training services. Each occupational therapist is responsible for inspiring the living functionality of each child. With the leadership of our highly respected occupational therapy supervisor Wu Tuan-wen, the Kickstart staff uses academic professionalism and clinical experience to precisely diagnose each child’s sensory integration dysfunction and provides professional and proven occupational therapy services to help you combat challenges associated to those issues.

Kickstart respects each child’s uniqueness, therefore each session is primarily one-on-one. Some are conducted in a small group setting depending on your child’s needs. We believe every child is different and our teachers are committed to helping each child overcome their specific challenges. We rely heavily on parental participation and hope parents will want to be involved in their child’s training so that together we can help your kids grow into whoever they want to be. We actively listen to each parent’s thoughts and concerns, and each teacher offers a careful explanation of your child’s specific condition to help the family “kick start” a beautiful life.

In order to provide contemporary, innovative and professional sensory integration lessons and services, Kickstart continues to expand every therapist’s professional knowledge and skills. CEO Ms. Wu Tuan-wen has long-term partnerships with world-renowned international sensory integration organizations (such as the STAR center, a Pediatric Therapy Network) and is certified with the most up-to-date trainings. Kickstart’s advisor, Chen Yun-ru, is currently studying abroad and learning the latest and greatest occupational therapy techniques. Miss Chen returns periodically to Taiwan to train our occupational therapists. In our classrooms, we have designed a two-floor open and spacious learning environment, along with more than 100 pieces of state-of-the-art equipment and teaching materials so that we can provide an optimal space for your child's sensory activities.

Kickstart actively and effectively designs advanced proposals in lesson planning and services, including Integrated Listening Systems, quantum reflex integration, Bal-A-Vis-X, “How Does Your Engine Run?” A Leader’s Guide to The Alert Program for Self-Regulation, Brain Gym, yoga for kids, Yoga for the Special Child®, Qigong Sensory Training, Masgutova Tactile Integration and many more. Many parents have told us that once their child begins our advanced training, their condition improves dramatically and the parents are very satisfied with the results - both immediate and long-term.

Our Services

The training sessions provided by Kickstart are based on sensory-motor needs of each child. In order to increase the effectiveness of each session, Kickstart provides extensive explanations to parents, either one-on-one or in small groups, to help them understand and work on take-home assignments with their children. We provide written materials for all home program activities.

All teachers at Kickstart are board-certified occupational therapists. In addition, they have trained and interned with Ms. Wu, who is a well-renowned clinical occupational therapy supervisor. They are all skilled in cognition, body development, life adjustment and social training. This includes fine motor and hand function training, visual perception training, attentional skill training, life independence training, emotional regulation training, oral motor training, and interpersonal and social skills training. Our teachers design each lesson according to the individual needs of each child. With their creative and inspiring teaching style, every child is given an interesting learning environment whether they are in a one-on-one or small group setting.

Kickstart strongly encourages the participation of parents. The main caregiver of the child will be advised to sit in on the sessions, and they will be briefed on sensory integration and application skills. In collaboration with us, we hope parents can be a part of each child’s learning and growing experience.
